Put a strap or rope around three countershafts (fig, 7-105). Fasten a hoist to the strap or

rope. Remove three countershafts (1) and the gears as a unit.

put the countershafts and gears on a work bench or on the floor. Separate the counter-

shafts from the gears. Remove the collar from gear (5) in the center.

Remove bearing race (2) from each end of the three countershafts, using tools 8H663,

8B7560, 8H684, and 8B7548.
