When backing up vehicle, one crew member must be in back of vehicle operating
rear step buzzer to communicate with operator.
Failure to comply may result in
injury or death to personnel and/or damage to equipment.
NOTE
Performance is maximized with less than a 10 ft. (3 m) vertical lift.
As vertical lift increases
above 10 ft. (3 m), maximum pump capacity will be reduced.
Altitude also affects pump
performance.
1.
Position vehicle as close to water source as possible.
2.
Park vehicle (TM 9-2320-422-10).
CAUTION
Ensure suction hose strainer is clean and free from debris and other obstructions.
Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
Ensure all valves are in closed position, and inlet and discharge caps are securely
tightened before proceeding to Step 3.
A rubber mallet may be required to securely
tighten hard suction hose couplings to suction hose strainer and main inlet.
Ensure suction hose connections and gaskets are free from dirt and debris prior to
installation.
3.
Connect suction hose strainer (1) to hard suction hose (2).
4.
Remove cap (3) from driver main inlet (4).
5.
Ensure strainer (5) is present and free of debris.
6.
Connect hard suction hose (2) securely to driver main inlet (4).
