before performing Power Test to avoid

possible engine damage.

CHECK GOVERNOR OPERATION:

• Watch the VTM display.

• Increase engine speed to maximum governor speed,

2900 ± 40 RPM.

• Press further on accelerator to full throttle.

• Does engine RPM remain below maximum at full

throttle?

NO

YES

• Proceed to step 2.

• Is engine RPM greater than upper limit?

YES

NO

• Turn vehicle engine OFF.

• Notify DS maintenance.

• Start engine (TM 9-2320-386-10).

• Engine RPM is below lower limit.

• Proceed to Governor/Power Test
