MEASURE BATTERY RESISTANCE:

• Dial 73 into TEST SELECT and press TEST.

• If GO appears, engage fuel shutoff switch and

depress starter switch until

OFF appears on VTM display.

• If error message appears, refer to

TM 9-4910-571-12&P, correct as necessary,

and repeat test.

• Check battery electrolyte level.

• Clean battery terminals.

• Refer to TM 9-6140-200-14 to check battery

specific gravity.

• Charge batteries if necessary.

• Repeat test.

• If battery has been charged and

battery resistance change is still

greater than the limit, replace

battery (WP 0122 00).

NOTE

After completing repair, rerun the GO-Chain

tests to verify that the problem is fixed and

that no other problems exist.

NOTE

If battery fails in freezing weather,

crank engine for 5 seconds and retest.

This will warm the battery slightly.
