Measure inside diameter using machinist’s rule.
Maximum inside diameter is 4X in. (11.7 cm).
Screw in lube fittings (8) and tighten using adjust-
able wrench and slip-joint pliers.
Put in place.
Using hammer, tap in place.
Roll split bearing (4) into place, noting notchmarks.
Put in place.

Put bushing (13) into place and hold.
Put leaf pin (16) in place with pin hole facing up
and pin hole and frame bracket (14) lined up.
Tap in place using
~ in. brass drift.
Repeat steps 23 and 24a for the other end of
spring (20).
Roll spring (20) into place under axle (5) with the

aid of an assistant.
Ensure that spring clip boltheads face
brakedrum.
Raise spring (20) until axle (5) is fully seated on
split bearing (4) and the fourth leaf spring is
above spring leaf pin (16) hole.
Roll split bearing (6) into place, noting notchmarks.
Put in place, noting marks, using hammer and
~ in.
brass drift.
a. Screw in and tighten using
lx in. socket and
ratchet handle with
~ in. drive.
b. Torque to 175 lb.-ft. (237 N•m) using torque
wrench.
