STEP 3
Are slack adjusters adjusted and free of damage?
WARNING
Be sure to wear the proper eye protection when working on or around pressurized air systems
if not injury or death could result.
1.
Release brake pedal. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
2.
Pull out trailer charge valve in vehicle. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
3.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to OFF. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
4.
Cage brake chamber. Refer to TM 9-2330-342-10 (WP
0190).

5.
Rotate slack adjuster to rod clevis.
6.
Install rod clevis, two pins, and cotter pins on slack adjuster.
7.
Uncage brake chamber. Refer to TM 9-2330-342-10 (WP
0190).
8.
Inspect slack adjusters for damage.
CONDITION/INDICATION
Are slack adjusters adjusted and free of damage?
DECISION
Not Damaged - Go to (Step 5 - Are brake components free of damage?).
Damaged - Replace slack adjuster (WP
0078). Go to (Step 4 - Are slack adjusters adjusted and free of
damage?).
