2-47. MAINTENANCE OF AUXILIARY DRIVE LINE BALL BEARING UNIT (CONT) .

INSPECTION/REPAIR

Inspect for broken, damaged, or missing parts.

Inspect bearings per TM 9-214 .

If output flange nut plate is damaged, repair is by replacement of next higher assembly.

Repair is by replacement of authorized parts (TM 9-2350-238-24P-1) which do not meet inspection

criteria .

Pack annular ball bearings (1 and 2) and

bearing unit housing (3) cavity with grease.

Press annular ball bearing (1) into bearing

unit housing (3) with seal facing out.

Install spacer sleeve bushing (4) into bearing

unit housing (3).

Press annular ball bearing (2) into bearing

unit housing (3) with seal facing out.

Apply a thin even coat of grease to pump

input flange (5).

Install output flange sleeve nut (6) into pump

input flange (5) and stake in eight places.
