EXHAUST SYSTEM
•
Exhaust Manifold (Figure 4, Item 1)
— collects exhaust gas from each cylinder and directs it to the
turbochargers (Figure 4, Item 2).
•
Turbochargers (Figure 4, Item 2)
— driven by the hot exhaust gases from the cylinders. It is
mechanically connected to the turbocharger in the air intake system to boost intake air pressure, which
increases horsepower.
•
Exhaust Pipe (Figure 4, Item 3)
— directs exhaust gases out of the engine compartment.
