ADJUST RAMP LOCK (M577A2 AND M1068 ONLY) — Continued

18. Remove cotter pin (1), headed pin (2), and clevis (3) from lever (4) for one side of vehicle only. Discard cotter pin.

19. Adjust clevis (3) to lengthen or shorten linkage and obtain a water tight seal between ramp (5) and hull (6). Latches

(7) must pull tight on catches (8).

20. Align clevis (3) with lever (4). Secure with headed pin (2).

21. Latch ramp lock lever (9).

22. Check for adequate tension on ramp latch (7) and catch (8).Thereshouldbenofreeplayinlatches(7)whenramp

lock lever (9) is latched.

23. Repeat Steps 17 - 22 until latch (7) is under proper tension. Install new cotter pin (1) in headed pin (2).

25. With ramp up and locked, loosen locknuts (10) on setscrew(11)

.Adjustsetscrew(11)toobtain1/16inch(2mm)to

3/32 inch (3 mm) maximum clearance between latches (7) and setscrew (11)

26. Tighten locknut (10) on setscrew (11).

24. Repeat Steps 17 - 23 for latch (7) on opposite side of carrier.
