BLEEDING AIR FROM SYSTEM
NOTE
The following bleeding procedure must be performed when disconnecting or replacing the
following:
Heater fuel shutoff valve or fittings
Heater fuel line (tank to pump)
Heater fuel pump
Heater fuel filter
Heater

Make sure heater fuel shutoff valve is open (see your -10).
WARNING
Diesel fuel can catch fire and seriously injure or kill soldiers and damage or destroy vehicles.
Wipe up fuel spills immediately. Do not smoke near fuel or when working on the fuel system.

Turn heater ON (see your -10).
3.
Loosen fuel line connection at outlet side of fuel pump. Tightenconnectionassoonasfuelbeginstoescapefromthe
line. Wipe up spilled fuel with rags.
4.
Loosen fuel line at inlet elbow of heater. Tighten connectionassoonasfuelbeginstoescapefromtheline

5.
Check heater for proper operation and fuel leaks.
6.
Turn heater OFF (see your -10).
