INSTALL/REMOVE MINE ARMOR KIT (M113A3 ONLY) — Continued

REMOVE COVER ARMOR PLATE

1.

Using floor jack or suitable lifting device, position under cover armor plate (13). Remove three screws (10) and

hardened washers (11) securing the cover armor plate to the hull. Have helper assist. Lower and remove cover armor

plate from under vehicle.

2.

Remove three spacers (12) from cover armor plate (13). Secure spacers with a tie strap to cover armor plate.

REMOVE MINE ARMOR PLATE

NOTE

Use a forklift capable of lifting 800 lbs (363 kg) to help support and hold the mine armor plate

in place during removal. There are various other methods to remove the mine armor plate.

Use caution and safety to prevent injuries.

Using forklift or hydraulic jacks, support the mine armor plate (2) before loosening and removing the screws and

washers.
