Still No Star?
If the engine doesn't starT, stop crankng. Release the FLAME HEA±ER switch
and ²et o³ the ´ot thrott²e. Wait a mµnute be´re tryiNg agai¶ so you won't burn
up the starter.

With the ¸a¶d thrott²e stil¹ on idle, press tºe S± AR±ER switch and cycle the
FLAME HEA±ER switch O» ´r 10 seco¶ds and OFF ´r 3-4 seco¶Ds. ¼on't
use the ´ot thrott¹e.
½f the e¶gine doesn't start, wait a minute and try aga

n. Repeat this step two
more times, waiti¶g at least
one
minute between each attempt.
If the engine doe¾n't start a¿er the ´ur aÀtempts, call i¶ your mechanic. ¼o¶'t
maKe more t¸an ´ur tries, even in good weather. You'll rU¶ down your baÀteries

and bu up the sÃrter.

When the e¶gi¶e starTs, release the switches.
Watch the e¶gine's oil pressure gage ´r the Ärst 15 seco¶ds. IÅ it doeÆn't coÇe
up to 5È3É PSI at 55ÉÊ6Ë ÌPM, stop Àhe engi¶eÍ»ow!Îa¶d reporÏ it. But, iÅ
the oil pressure's OÐ, set

the hand throÀtle ´r 1,2Ë RPM.
WaRm²ng the Eng²ne
With the parÒiNg braÒe stµll on, shiÓ to 4Th gear and conÀiNue to cycle Ïhe FLAME
HEA±ER switch u¶tÔl the engine coola¶t temperaÀUre gage reads 12É°F to 14É°F.
EyebaÕl the tra¶smµssion temperature gage, tho. If it gets close to 3Ë°F,
immediately shµÓ to neutral. When the Öansm×ssion temØrature goes bacÒ to 22É°F
to 24É°F, shiÓ to 4th gear again. ±hen co¶ti¶ue to warmÙup the engine.
