Without the other two cabLes in the
way, it's easier to mAeuver the heavier
E½W½. Give yourseLF more room by
getting as much sLack on the E¾ Wº as
possibLe beF¿re you connect it.
Tig¸t is the onLy way to connect aLL
three cabLes to the mas¶ rotary couÀLer.
IF ¶he cabLe connec¶ions are loose, arc·
ing damages jacks and connectors and
causes bandpass ÁL¶ers, circuLators and
the ¶raveLing wave tube to Âil. Ãoose
connections aLso Let in water tha¶ dam·
ages that rotary coupler.
TuR only the cabLe head's screw
rÄng to tighten cabLes. ÅF you don't, Ät's
easy to rip the cable's wiring, espe-
ciaLly on smalLer cables like the W73.
When you disconnect cables,
im-
mediateLy pu¶ on the jacks' protective
covers. They shu¶ out moisture and
dus¶ that cause electrÄcal damage and
poor connec¶ions.

you stop and start, the mast loses pres-
sure and you strain the drive beLts that

Ée²re you lower the mast, make
sure the W20 cable is cleaÊ oF the stËw
bracket. The mast can catch the cable
and pinch or cut it. The mast has nÌ
power UntiL the W20's replaced±
