We've had problems with
our Huey ground handling
wheels, PIN

to t±e pump body fall out and
the handle bends. W±en t±at
happens, ²±e user can fall and
be injured³
Also, wh´n t±e handle fails,
²he piston assembly can
break, leaving ²±e w±eels
useless³
We solved the problem by
replacing the pins wit±
common bolts and nu²s and
welding the loop and piston
togetheR, like so:

uick disconnect fIttings on aircraft
Fel, oil and hydraulic lines Are real
handy when yoU're changing a paRt.
But if you don't reconnect the line
securely,

can le² out.
Then
you've got big problems. You can get
someone
kilLed-or
an
aircra³
downed.
To seat a qUick disconnect firmly,
push in and twist. When tHe pins pop
oUt and stay out, the job's done.
But if the pins don´t Pop oUt, or if
they don't stay out, staRµ over.
Don't rely on a visual check alone.
¶he pins may look like they're out
when they're not. To make sure, ·el
¸r them. That's the only way to be
sUre the line is tight .
