²or opeNers, you doN't have to re-
Lease track teNsioN or ³ooseN the track
guide to tighteN a wedge boLt.
But, you do have to make sure you
tighteN the boLt at the right p³ace a´d
tIme.
ONce the wedge is i´ pLace aNd
sNugged dowN, mark the eNd coNNector.
²or outside coNNectors, have the
driver move the taNk backward uNtiL
the µorwArd edge of the shoe behiNd
the marked coN´ector just touches the
idLer wheeL.

Torque the wedge boLt to 320¶350
L·¸ft.
For outboard
conNectors, torque
wedge bOlt to
320·350 lb±f
²or iNside coNNectors to be tight¹
eNed at the same timeº have the driver
move f»rward after the outside wedge
has beeN tighteNed. Stop the taNk wheN
the iNside wedge is midway betweeN
the idLer aNd the ¼o. 1 roadwheeL½
Torque the wedge to 320¾350 Lb-
ft.
²Or inboard
coNnectors³ ToRque wedge
bolt to 320±350 lb±f
¿fter the boLts are tighte´ed, have
the drIver move the taNk Àrward 6 ±et
a´d backward 6 feet. Stop the taNk at
the right poi´t to torque the outside
coNNectors agai´ to 320¾350 LbÁft. Do
the same with a³L i´side coN´ectors to
be tighteNed at their right LocatioN.
¿Âter 20 miLes, torque the boLt
agaiN to 320¾350 ³bÁft.
