pressor.
Using any kInd of lever±like a
screwDriver²could bend the bleed
band. Then it won't be able to move
in the narrow space available.
That causes bad things to happen,
including a high exhaust gas tempera-
ture (EGT) during a turbine engine
analysis check (TEAC³.

Always use compressed air to close
the bleed band, like it says in Para 2´2
of TM 55´2840´229µ23´1¶ But maKe
sure you don't exceed 60 ·S¸ when
closin¹ the bleed band or you could
dama¹e the actuator diaphragm.
¸f metered compressed air is not
available, clean the compressor section
with the bleed band open¶
