Step 3.

Draw a line connecting the two marks with a straightedge.

Step 4.

Measure 3 inches from the front edge of the tailgate. Mark this point on the drawn line.

Step 5.

Measure 14 1/2 inches from the front edge of the tailgate and mark a second point on the drawn

line. These marked intersecting points define the attaching points of the two strap assemblies.

Step 6.

Mark the center of each hole with the included transfer punch.

Step 7.

Using a Letter “Q” size drill bit, drill out the two marked holes. Remove any burrs.
