Pass end of handbrake cable (1) through eye of lever assembly (2) .
Screw nut (3) two turns onto end of handbrake cable (1) .
Using adjustable wrench, hold cable (1) .
Using 3/4-inch wrench, screw o n
nut (3) until 1/4inch of handbrake cable comes through nut .
Hook spring (4) over adjusting screw (5) .
Using pliers, hook spring (6) into hole in lever assembly (2) .

On trucks with exhaust pipe going to rear, exhaust pip e
must be put back in place and tightened. For truck s
with engine LD 427, refer to Part 1, para 5-5. Fo r
trucks with engine LD 465, refer to Part 1, para 5-3 .
For all other trucks, refer to Part 1, para 5-4 .
