2. Place a prybar between U-bolt saddle (2) and lifting
pin (3).
3. Pull up on prybar. If there is any free play, adjust
spring seat bearing (para. 7-18).

Inspect spring U-bolts (1) for looseness. If loose,

tighten 300-400 lb-ft (407-542 N•m).

1. Place flat end of bar between torque rod (7) and

2. Push on end of bar until hook end moves 4-6 in.
(10-15 cm).
3. Release pressure on bar. Replace if torque rod (7)
does not return to its original position (para. 7-20).
