General mechanic’s tool kit (Appendix E, Item 1)
EQUIPMENT CONDITION
Torque wrench (Appendix E, Item 144)
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
MATERIALS/PARTS
Two cotter pins (Appendix D. Item 85)
1.
Remove two cotter pins (5) from two slotted nuts (6) and drag link (2). Discard cotter pins (5).
2.
Remove two slotted nuts (6) from drag link (2).
3.
Remove drag link (2) from pitman arm (7) and steering knuckle arm (4).
4.
Remove two rubber boots (3) from drag link (2).
5.
Remove two grease fittings (1) from drag link (2).
1.
Install two grease fittings (1) on drag link (2).
2.
Install two rubber boots (3) on drag link (2).
3.
Install drag link (2) on steering knuckle arm (4) and pitman arm (7) with two slotted nuts (6).
Tighten two slotted nuts (6) 140 lb-ft (190 N•m).
4.
Install two new cotter pins (5) in slotted nuts (6) and drag link (2).
