To prevent any reoccurrence of harmful
vapors from reappearing in the fuel tank,
replacement of the step wiII be started
and completed immediately following
vapor test reading, using an explosive
meter.
Under no circumstances will any fuel
tank repair be carried over from the pre-
vious day, without performing another
vapor test reading to be conducted by
safety personnel. Repurge fuel tank if
vapors are present.
a.
Remove drain plug (1, fig. 3-5) from bottom of fuel tank and drain fuel into suitable containers.
b.
Remove fuel lines (3 and 5, fig. 3-5) and plug open ends.
c.
Remove air vent screw, fuel sending unit, and elbows from fuel tank (2 and 4, fig. 3-5).
d.
Clean and purge fuel tank.
