Remove the two nuts and Iockwashers retaining resistor assembly to the transformer-

rectifier mounting plate (left side viewed from transformer-rectifier end) (fig. 5-4).

NOTE

In step (3), note the location of the

mounting screws to aid in assembly.

Remove four mounting sockethead screws and Iockwashers, and remove the transformer-

rectifier and resistor (fig. 5-5).

Disconnect resistor lead from the positive terminal on the alternator.

Remove mounting plate by removing three sockethead screws and two spacers.
