d. Assemble and Install the Top Front (Input) shaft.

(f) Assemble the input shaft in the order shown in figure 8-61 and as described in the

following steps:

(a) Insert the lock key into the shaft keyway with the rounded end of the key in the

shaft shoulder.

NOTE

It is recommended that the gear be pre-

heated by soaking in 150°F (66°C) oil

to facilitate assembly.
