Perform the following inspections
and checks before connecting the
semitrailer to the towing vehicle.
a. Visually inspect kingpin for obvious
damage and wear. Make sure kingpin and
bolster plate are greased.

b. Visually inspect bolster plate for
obvious damage, bowing, and cracked
welds.

c. Check to make sure bolster plate drain
holes are not plugged.
