Connect button probe cable to MSD/ICE test equipment (WP

0004).

Connect button probe cable red lead to 24 vdc (12 terminal) cable, trailer end connector, pin F.

7.

Connect button probe cable black lead to 24 vdc (12 terminal) cable, trailer end connector, pin D.

8.

Have assistant turn engine start switch to ON. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP

0190).

9.

Have assistant turn ON Blackout Lights selector switch. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP

0190).

10.

Have assistant fully depress brake pedal. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP

0190).

11.

Perform ICE Test 89.

12.

Meter should display a reading between 22 and 28 vdc.

CONDITION/INDICATION

Are 22 to 28 vdc measured between terminals F and D on trailer end of 24 vdc cable?

DECISION

Voltage OK - Go to (Step 6 - Can trailer main harness wire 1678C be repaired?).

Voltage Faulty - Go to (Step 5 - Can 24 vdc cable be repaired?).

Can 24 vdc cable be repaired?

WARNING

Remove all jewelry such as rings, ID tags, bracelets, etc. prior to working on or around vehicle.

Jewelry and tools can catch on equipment, contact positive electrical circuits, and cause a

direct short, severe burns, or electrical shock. Failure to comply may result in injury or death

to personnel.
