CONDITION/INDICATION
Are slack adjusters adjusted and free of damage?
DECISION
Adjuster OK - Go to (Step 2 - Are brake components free of damage?).
Adjuster Damaged - Replace slack adjuster (WP
0078). Go to (Step 3 - Does wheel(s) spin freely?) to verify problem
is solved.
STEP 2
Are brake components free of damage?
1.
Adjust brakes (WP
0066).
2.
Remove brake drum (WP
0092).

3.
Visually inspect brake shoes, drum, and other brake components for excessive wear, broken brake shoe
springs, loose shoes, grooved drums, and other damage that will prevent brakes from releasing.
CONDITION/INDICATION
Are brake components free of damage?
DECISION
Not Damaged - Go to (Step 3 - Does wheel(s) spin freely?) to verify problem is solved.
Damaged - Replace damaged brake components (WP
0072). Go to (Step 3 - Does wheel(s) spin freely?) to verify
problem is solved.
STEP 3
Does wheel(s) spin freely?
1.
If removed, install brake drum (WP
0092).
2.
Adjust brakes (WP
0066).
3.
Ensure vehicle is returned to normal operating condition.
4.
Raise up trailer (WP
0094) and support side so the wheel(s) is off the ground.
5.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to ON. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
6.
Push in trailer charge valve in vehicle. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
7.
Spin wheel and listen to and observe movement.
8.
Pull out trailer charge valve in vehicle. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
9.
Have assistant turn engine start switch to OFF. Refer to vehicle Operator's manual (WP
0190).
10.
Remove support from side and lower trailer to ground (WP
0094).
