2-69. MAINTENANCE OF STARTER AND MOUNTING HARDWARE (CONT).

Inspect for broken, damaged, or missing parts.

Engine starter is a repairable assembly. Notify direct support maintenance.

Repair is by replacement of authorized parts (TM 9-2815-202-24P).

Install new gasket (1) on starter mounting

flange.

Install engine starter (2) using three new

Iockwashers (3) and three machine bolts

(4).

Install electrical lead (5) and screw (6) on

solenoid relay.

Install starter ground lead (7) using two

new Iockwashers (8) and hexagon head

capscrew (9).

Remove nut (10) and Iockwasher (11) and

install starter cable (12) and electrical lead

(13). Install new Iockwasher (11) and nut

(10).
