Carefully swing and lift diesel engine (26)
from transmission assembly (30) an d
transfer assembly (39) .
Place diesel engine on suitable supports
for removal of accessories, using waste oil
drain unit per TM 9-2815-202-24P .
NOT E
Retainer is not an authorized repair
part. Usecare to ensure retainer is
not lost or damaged during
maintenance of diesel engine.
Remove retainer (40), 12 self-locking bolts
(41), preformed packing (42), and flexible
coupling shaft (43) from diesel engine
(26) .
Remove flywheel housing gasket (44) fro m
diesel engine (26) .
NOT E
If transmission coupling shaft was
removed with diesel engine, remov e
shaft from engine and install in as-
sembly .
Remove transfer assembly from trans-
mission assembly, refer to page 2-93.
INSPECTION/REPAI R

Inspect for broken, damaged, or missin g
parts .

If diesel engine is damaged, refer to TM 9-
2815-202-24P .

For repair of transmission, refer to TM 9-
2520-234-35 .

If transmission is damaged beyond repair ,
replace entire transmission and container .

Repair is by replacement of authorized parts
(TM 9-2350-238-24P-1) which do not mee t
inspection criteria.
