BATTERY TESTING AND REPLACEMENT (Sheet 9 of 13)

Using stiff wire brush, clean retainer (B) with bicarbonate of soda and water.

Using brush, coat retainer (B) with black acid-resistant paint (Item 46, Appendix D).
4.
Using terminal and post cleaner, clean battery posts and terminals.
5.
Inspect bolts, nuts, washers, and retainer for bent or stripped threads or rounding-off bolt heads.
6.
Inspect rubber boots for cracks or deterioration.
7.
Replace parts found unserviceable.
