Remove four nuts (15), screws (16), and four battery terminals (7) and (11) from battery box (13). Use battery terminal

puller.

CLEAN, INSPECT, AND REPAIR

1.

Clean battery terminals, battery posts, grounding brackets on hull, and lead connectors with brush dipped in mixture of

sodium bicarbonate and water. After foaming stops, flush parts with clean water. Dry with clean cloth.

2.

Clean battery terminals and posts with battery terminal cleaner.

3.

Check battery cover. Remove dents. Repair cracks. Replace cover damaged beyond repair.

4.

Check leads. Replace worn leads and damaged connectors (WP 0312 00).
