REPLACE DRIVER’S HATCH PERISCOPE GUARD AND QUICK RELEASE

ASSEMBLY — Continued

INSTALLATION

1.

Install new felt (1) on top plate (2). Place top plate in driver’s hatch (3).

2.

Install bottom plate (4) in driver’s hatch (3). Secure to top plate (2) with four new lockwashers (5) and screws (6).

3.

Compress two rings on plug (7). Install plug in top plate (2) from top deck of carrier.

WARNING

Adhesive, primer, sealant compounds, and isopropyl alcohol are toxic and flammable. These

compounds are toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Continued exposure can make you

dizzy and irritate your eyes and throat.

Always use in well ventilated areas, away from heat, sparks, and flames. Do not breathe fumes.

Do not allow into contact with skin and eyes. Use goggles or face shield and protective gloves.

4.

Apply adhesive to mating surface on guard (8). Install two new non-metallic seals (9). Trim seals, if needed.

5.

Place guard (8) on periscope quick-release assembly (10). Secure with four new lockwashers (11), screws (12), washers

(13), and nuts (14).
