REPLACE DRIVER’S HATCH COVER AND EXTERIOR LOCK (ALL

EXCEPT M901A1) — Continued

INSTALLATION

1.

Align bolt (4) with bracket on hatch. Secure with headed pin (6) and new cotter pin (5).

2.

Install bushing (3), washer (2), and wing nut (1) on bolt (4).

3.

Place new seal (7) over retaining groove in cover (8) and press seal into place. Trim end, if needed.

4.

Install screw (9) in cover (8) and secure with new locknut (10).

5.

Align cover (8) with hinge brackets and install two new ring spacers (11) and tube (12).

6.

Apply light coat of grease to each spring (13). Install springs in tube (12).

7.

Place cover (8) in vertical position and install retainer (14) on hinge brackets. Secure with two screws (15) and new

locknuts (16).
