REPLACE CARGO HATCH DOOR (M113A2, M901A1, AND M1059 ONLY) — Continued

INSTALLATION

1.

Install two new short seals (1) and two new long seals (15) into hatch door. Press seals into place.

2.

Install screw (17) in hatch door (16). Secure with new locknut (3).

3.

Place plate(s) (4) and eye bracket (5) on hull top plate. Secure with two washers (6) and screws (7). TIGHTEN

SCREWS TO 60–65 LB-FT (81–88 N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench.

4.

Align hatch door (16) with hinge brackets. Install two gaskets (8) and shield (9).

5.

Apply coat of grease to each leaf spring (10). Install nine leaf springs in shield (9).

6.

Place hatch door (16) in vertical position. Install plate(s) (11) and bracket (12). Secure with two washers (13) and screws

(14). TIGHTEN SCREWS TO 60–65 LB-FT (81–88 N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench.

FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS

1.

Adjust latch (WP 0463 00).

2.

Close cargo hatch door. Check that door is properly installed.
