REPAIR DRIVER’S SEAT MOUNT (OLD CONFIGURATION) — Continued

DISASSEMBLY
1.
Check torsion springs (1). Spring should be able to raise seat to top position when seat is released. Replace weak springs.
2.
Check spring (2). Spring must be able to return handle to release position. Replace broken or weak spring.
3.
Remove plastic cap (3) from seat post (4).
4.
Remove two locknuts (5), screws (6), and stiffener (7) from seat post (4). Discard locknuts.
5.
Remove two locknuts (8), washers (9), screws (10), and torsion springs (1) from seat post (4). Remove seat support (11)
from seat post. Discard locknuts.
6.
Remove screw (12) and cover (13) from seat support (11).
7.
Remove cotter pin (14) from pin (15). Discard cotter pin.
8.
Remove pin (15), washer (16), spool (17), and two torsion springs (1) from seat support (11).
9.
Loosen jamnut (18). Remove knob (19) and jamnut from handle (20).
10. Remove two spring pins (21) from straight pin (22). Discard spring pins.
11. Remove straight pin (22), three washers (23), and spring (24) from seat support (11).
12. Remove two spring pins (25) from cam (2) and handle (20). Remove cam and handle from seat support (11). Discard
spring pins.
13. Remove four retainer rings (26) and rollers (27) from seat support (11).
CLEAN, INSPECT, AND REPAIR
1.
Check parts for corrosion, distortion, cracks, breaks, and loose or missing parts. Repair or replace damaged or missing
parts.
