REPLACE STEERING SUPPORT, BRACKETS, AND SHAFT — Continued

16. Place housing (1) in vise and drive spring pin (2) from U-joint (3). Discard spring pin.

17. Remove U-joint (3) and woodruff key (4) from shaft (5).

18. Remove retaining ring (6) and washer (7) from shaft (5). Discard retaining ring.

19. Remove shaft (5) from housing (1).

20. Remove washer (8) and spring (9) from shaft (5).

21. Remove lube fitting (10) from housing (1).

INSTALLATION

1.

Install lube fitting (10) on housing (1).

2.

Install spring (9) and washer (8) on shaft (5).

3.

Install shaft (5) in housing (1).

NOTE

Make sure retaining ring seats in groove on shaft.

4.

Install washer (7) and new retaining ring (6) on shaft (5).

5.

Install woodruff key (4) on shaft (5).

6.

Install shaft (5) in U-joint (3). Secure with new spring pin (2).
