Remove any water accumulation or dirt in cavities and dry thoroughly.

Install torsion bar anchors (6).

Install torsion bars (para 10-13).

Install four flat washers (5) and two screws (4). Torque screws to 230-260 Ib-ft (31 2-353 Nžm). Install new

Iockwire (3).

Cover accessible surfaces of torsion bars and anchors with film of preservative grease.

Place band of sealing compound 0.0625 in. (1.6 mm) wide around edges of each cover plate (3) (including

screw holes).

Coat cover plate screw threads with sealing compound and install cover plates (1) with 10 screws (2). Tighten

screws to 15-20 Ib-ft (20-27 N•m).

Remove any excess sealing compound from around edges of covers.
