minimum thickness shown in
Table 3-5, replace both bear-
ing shells (upper and lower).
Using a micrometer and ball attachment
(19), measure thickness of lower and
upper connecting rod bearing shells at
point (A), 90 degrees from parting line.

Fit new or used piston to
corresponding cylinder liner
and retain as matched set for
assembly in engine.

Using a micrometer, measure piston skirt
outside diameter (B) parallel to and
perpendicular with piston pin bore at
room temperature, 70°F (21°C). Skirt
diameter for model 5063-5299 is 3.8699
to 3.8721 inches. Skirt diameter for
models 5063-5395 and 5063-5398 is
3.8679 to 3.8701 inches. Taper and
out-of-round must not exceed 0.0005
inch.
