(5) Hold starting aid screw (28) and tighten locknut (27).

(6) Check clearance between injector body (11) and clevis of injector rack (41) as follows:

Position stop lever (2) in RUN position.

Move engine speed control lever (1) from IDLE speed to FULL FUEL position.

Return speed control lever (1) to IDLE position.

If governor gap is changed,

adjust injector control racks

Measure clearance of injector rack

(41) clevis to injector body (11). If

necessary, adjust starting aid screw

(28) again using steps (2) thru (5).

NOT E

again.

Start engine and check running governor gap (ref. Para 4-4.c.). If necessary, set governor gap

again. Running governor gap should be 0.0015 inch. Stop engine.

Ensure injector racks move into NO FUEL position with governor stop lever before

starting engine. Extended engine operation above speed limits can damage engine.

Remove cutaway governor cover assembly (45) from governor and install original governor

cover assembly on engine.
