Dry cleaning solvent is flammable. Do not use near

an open flame.

Keep a fire extinguisher nearby when

solvent is used. Use only in well-ventilated places.

Failure to do this may result in injury to personnel

and damage to equipment.

Eye shields must be worn when using compressed air.

Eye injury can occur if eye shields are not used.

Clean inside of rod support (1) using brass wire probe. Flush inside of rod

support with dry cleaning solvent.

Blow inside of rod support dry with

compressed air.

Clean outside of rod support (1) with dry cleaning solvent. Clean off sludge

and gum using a stiff brush. Dry with clean cloth.

Take preformed packing (2) off oil gage rod (3) and throw it away.

Clean oil gage rod (3), support bracket (4), screw (5), nut (6), and washer

(7) with dry cleaning solvent. Dry with clean cloth.
