Dear Windy,
Here're a couple of points about lubing taLl rotor components
that yOu might want to pass along tO Kiowa mechs. Some Of them
are overfi±ling the taLl rotor gearbox with lube oi² and over-
greasing the beAring inside the pitch coNtrol mechanism. What
happens in either case Is all bad.
When they overfil³ the gearbox, oil spi´s out Onto the pitch
change tube and soaks the trunnion bearing. µt also runs into the
Pitch control housing and oil soaks those bearings¶
You have to take the pitch change mechanism apart, cleAn It
real good and grease it again with aircraft grease, ·S·
