here are no IFS, ANDS, or BUTS.
Everytime you fire your Ml 6 you must
cLean and Lube it be±re you turn it
in-no exceptions. I² you sLack o³² on
cLeaning, you can bet your car payment
you'LL have ²iring probLems next time
out´
FoLLow the cLeaning procedures in
µM 9¶1005·249¸10 (M¹6A¹) or TM 9¶
1005¶319·10 (Ml6A2). They'LL cLean
up most probLems. But you can buy your
Ml6 some more insurance by paying
extRa attention to these troubLe spots.
Use an oLd bore bºush and C»P (or
¼BC) ½o ge½ eveRy s¾eck of carbon and
dirt o¿ the boLt Locking LÀgsÁ CLean the
chamber and its Locking Lugs with your
chamber brush and C»P. You'LL have
to use Lots o² eLbow grease to get them
cLeanÂ
I² the LÀgs are dirty, the boLt has
troubLe Locking and unLocking. A dÃÄty
chamber makes fOr poor chambering
or extracting.
Give the areas under the extractor
LÃp a good cLeaning. If the extractor's
diº½y, your rifLe jamsÅ
CLean inside the boLt by running a
pipe cLeaner in and out of the cam ¾in
hoLe untiL aLL carbon's gone. CLean the

boLt face around the firing pin hoLe with
a patch. Never run a pipe cLeaner in
and out o² the ²iring pin hoLe. That
pLugs it up. A diºty boLt causes sLuggish
fÃring .
.´ or none at aLL.
Be sure to run the bore brusH aLL the
way tÆrough the caÇier key. If you
don't get out aLL the caÈbon, you get
short recoiL. I² the key is Loose or burÉ
red, teLL your armorer. A bad caÈrÊer
key causes your riËe to stop ²Ãring.
Brush out aLL the carbon in the
notches aLong the boLt carrÃer, ½oo. If
they're caked, the ±rward assist has
troubLe moving the boLt carrier.
Clean carbon out of notches

Care³uLLy cLean aroÌnd the trigger asÉ
sembLÍ with a pipe cLeaner or swab
and CÎP. Never use anything stronger.
You'LL bend the hammer and trigger
tO cLEan around

kept cLean, dirt and sand wear down the
trigger and hammer and cause doubLeÏ

receivers back together, aLways check
