CaterpiLLar 130G road grader.
Beginning
with
serial
nuMber
7GB063
l,
the step group was changed.
That sets up a problem FOr aLL o± you
with graders with serial numbers between 7GB²²² 1 and 7GB063
l.
The old step
fr your grader is not available. You³Ll have t´ order both a new top step
assembly, PN 8W4389, and a new bottom step assembLy, NSN 2540-01-2µ3¶
0165, PN 5T7616, when either paRt ·eeds to be replaced.

you disconnect the battery ground
cable o· the ¹eº side »st on 130G
¼raders.
That's because even with the battery
disconnect switch in the ½¾ position,
there is current Flowing through the
ground connection.
To prevent shocks, here's how to
disconnect the battery cables to remove
batteries:

Tu¿ the disconnect switch ½¾.

battery
cover.
*
Take oÁ the fur nuts and the batÂ
tery hoLd-down asseMbly.

Disconnect the right side positive
cable »st, and secure it away Ãom the
battery teRminal.
*
Disconnect
any
other
battery
cables necessary, and remove the le±t
or right battery.
When you're replacing a battery, reÄ
verse the disconnect proceÅure. Hook
up the right side positive cable ÆAST.
