Front Wheels,
Hubs, and Drums
WARNING
Completely deflate tire before removing
from axle if there is obvious damage to
wheel components. Failure to comply
may result in injury or death to
personnel.
Use caution when inflating tires. Ensure
tire is in a tire cage and properly seated
on rim before inflating. An improperly
seated tire can burst with explosive
force. Failure to comply may result in
injury or death to personnel.
Do not work on any component
supported only by lift jacks or hoist.
Always use blocks or proper stands to
support the component prior to any
work. Equipment may fall. Failure to
comply may result in injury or death to
personnel.
Air in system is under pressure. Ensure
engine is shut down and all air reservoirs
are drained before disconnecting CTIS
components. Failure to comply may
result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Similar left and right side
components are inspected in the
same manner and will be
accomplished simultaneously.
Procedures cover left side only.
When documenting discrepancies
for similar left and right side
components, indicate which side is
affected.
To simplify maintenance, perform
Items (19a) through (19g)
simultaneously with Items (20a)
through (20c).

ring (Figure 3, Item 1) for dents or breaks that could
