18-3. Disassembly.
a.
Clamp the spring assembly in a vise (fig. 18-2). Remove the spring alinement clamps and remove
the center bolt.

Insert a long drift in the center hole and release the vise slowly.
c.
Remove the assembly from the vise and check for any broken leaves.
d.
Replace any broken leaf.

Place the spring leaves in a vise.
b.
Insert a long drift in the center hole and slowly tighten the vise.
c.
Remove the drift and install the center bolt and nut. Torque to 75-85 Ib-ft (100-115 N.m).
