While assistant lowers air bag control lever to down position, listen to air hose 2231.
CONDITION/INDICATION
Does air bag control valve release air from air bag?
DECISION
Air Escaping - Replace relief valve (WP
0088). Go to (Step 3 - Does the drawbar remained lowered?) to verify
problem is solved.
No Air - Replace air bag control valve (WP
0081). Go to (Step 3 - Does the drawbar remained lowered?) to verify
problem is solved.
STEP 3
Does the drawbar remained lowered?
1.
Raise air bag control lever to center position.
2.
Connect air hose 2231 to relief valve.
3.
Ensure vehicle is returned to normal operating condition.
4.
Raise air bag control lever to up position. Refer to TM 9-2330-342-10 (WP
0190)
5.
Lower air bag control lever to down position.

6.
Return air bag control lever to center position.
CONDITION/INDICATION
Does the drawbar remained lowered?
DECISION
Drawbar DOWN - Problem fixed.
Drawbar UP - Problem is not fixed. Problem may have been missed during previous steps of troubleshooting. Repeat
all previous steps of this procedure. Go to (Step 1 - Are lines 2224, 2225, 2226, 2231, 2232 and fittings free of
crimps?). If problem still exists after all troubleshooting tests are accomplished, contact your Supervisor.
