Hydraulic fluid (item 22, Appx B)

Lockwashers (2) (item 158, Appx E)

Retaining rings (2) (item 22, Appx E)

Equipment Condition

Filter assembly removed (para 6-1)

a. Disassembly

Remove retaining ring (1) at top end of fluid filter assembly (2) and discard.

Remove and discard filter assembly element (3) and preformed packing (4).

Remove retaining ring (5) at pump end of fluid filter assembly (2) and discard.

Remove head and ball check valve group (6) from filter body (7).

Remove preformed packing (8) from fluid filter head (9) and discard.

Remove two cap screws (10), two lockwashers (11), and fluid restrictor (12) from fluid filter head (9). Discard

lockwashers.

Remove helical compression spring (13), power pack guide (14), and bearing ball (15) from fluid filter head

(9).

b. Inspection

Inspect filter body (7) and replace if distorted or cracked.

Inspect helical compression spring (13) and replace if distorted, cracked, scratched, or damaged.

Inspect fluid filter head (9) and replace if cracked, distorted, or damaged.
