Equipment Condition

Bypass valve assembly removed

(TM 9-2350-311-20-2)

a. Disassembly

1

Remove four cap screws (1), four lockwashers (2), and four hex nuts (3). Discard lockwashers.

Separate solenoid (4) from spacer (5).

Remove two cap screws (6), two lockwashers (7), and body (8) from spacer (5). Discard lockwashers.

Remove two cap screws (8.1) and spacer (5) from welded block.

Remove two cap screws (9), two lockwashers (10), cap (11), and helical compression spring (12) from body

(8). Discard lockwashers.

Remove spool (13) from body (8).

Remove preformed packings (14 and 15) from spool (13) and discard.

b. inspection

1

Inspect body (8) and spool (13). Replace bypass valve body (16) if body or spool is cracked, distorted,

scratched, or scored.

Inspect helical compression spring (12). Replace if cracked, broken, distorted, or scratched.
