torque rod on a 2 I /2- or 5±ton truck!
it may be more serv²ceable than ²t
looks.
A lot of rods are be²ng replaced
jUsT because the rubber bush²nGs are
cracked or
separaTed.
Here's ³ow
you can get a read²ng on the rods:
Place t³e end of a 3±fT crowBar,

NS N 5120±00±242±0762´ between the
torque rod and t³e mount²ng bracket
(or use the 36±²n p²nch bar´ NSN
5120±00-224-1372´ carr²ed on 5-ton
wrecker)µ

Push on the end of the bar so that
the hook end moves ¶ to 6 ²nches.
Release pre·sure on the croWbarµ
if the torque rod returns to ²ts or²G²¸
nal pos²t²on¹ ²tºs OKµ if ²t does not,
replace the rodµ
