CYLINDER HEAD
DISASSEMBLY AND TESTING
1. Use ST-448 or other suitable valve spring
compressor,
compress valve springs, remove half
collets, retainers,
springs, valve spring guides and
valves.
If used, remove intake valve oil seals and
discard.
2. Place valves on a numbered valve board for
inspection.
Pressure Testing
Install ST-1179 or equivalent Injector Sleeve Holding
Tool (Fig.
2-2) or a scrap injector assembly in each
injector sleeve.
Tighten tool or injector hold-down
capscrews to 10 to 12 ft-lbs [1.4 to 1.7 kg ml torque to
seal lower end of injector sleeve and place cylinder head
in ST-1012 Hydrostatic Tester (Fig.
2-3) or equivalent.
