PRIMING WATER PUMP FROM PUMP OPERATOR’S PANEL

NOTE

Ensure water source is available before performing pump priming function.

1.

Start engine (TM 9-2320-422-10).

CAUTION

•

Engine must be at idle before engaging PTO.

Failure to comply will result in

damage to PTO and/or transmission.

•

If discharge gauge reading does not increase, or priming pump does not discharge

water to ground in 60 seconds, do not continue running priming pump.

Stop water

pump, or damage to equipment may result.

2.

Turn PUMP PTO switch (1) to on position. Indicator light (2) will illuminate.

3.

Put HIGH IDLE switch (3) to ON position.

Indicator light (4) will illuminate.

4.

Set pressure governor (5) to operating pressure (WP 0017).

5.

Push and hold DRIVER MAIN INLET PRIMER button (6).

6.

Ensure pressure governor (5) displays water pressure on pump discharge display.

7.

If pressure governor (5) displays water pressure, release DRIVER MAIN INLET PRIMER button (6).

8.

Proceed with mission.
